In this course we’ll explore accessibility considerations in music therapy sessions (and beyond) for students with high support needs. We’ll share tips, songs, and the materials we utilize to ensure that our sessions are accessible to everyone in the group. The course explores the following:

  • sensory needs and considerations

  • speech & language and access to communication systems

  • auditory considerations

  • visuals considerations

  • physical considerations

This 6-hour, resource-packed course offers 26 song examples, tips on how to modify sessions, accessibility tools, and suggested multisensory components to increase accessibility! This course is pre-approved for 7 continuing education credits for music therapists.

Meet your instructor

Marie Miller, MT-BC is a board certified music therapist with a certificate in neurologic music therapy. Before becoming a music therapist in 2013, she worked in  accessible education with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

She is passionate about creating rich learning experiences for children. Marie opened Rhythm and Strings Music Therapy, LLC in 2013.
