3 Rainy Day Songs For Preschool and Kindergarten
Rainy days don’t have to mean low energy and restless wiggles. In fact, a little rain outside can be the perfect excuse to turn up the music inside! Today I’m sharing three of my favorite rainy day songs that are always a hit in the classroom.
If All The Raindrops Medley by Stephanie Leavell
This song would be great to use with a blue canopy scarf. To extend this activity, have a class discussion-if rain could be anything, what would you want it to be?
Lyrics:
If all the raindrops were lemondrops and gum drops
Oh what a rain it would be
I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah....
If all the raindrops were lemondrops and gum drops
Oh what a rain it would be
Rain, rain, go away
Come again another day
Our friends just want to play
Rain rain, go away
If all the raindrops were lemondrops and gum drops
Oh what a rain it would be
I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah....
If all the raindrops were lemondrops and gum drops
Oh what a rain it would be
It’s raining, it’s pouring
The old man is snoring
He went to bed and bumped his head
And couldn’t wake up in the morning
If all the raindrops were lemondrops and gum drops
Oh what a rain it would be
I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah....
If all the raindrops were lemondrops and gum drops
Oh what a rain it would be
Drip Drop Rain is a fun rain-themed movement song. It’s perfect for when recess is cancelled and there are extra wiggles to get out!
Preschool Learn to Dance: Drip Drop Rain by Dance 'n Beats Lab
The Rain Falls Down by Stephanie Leavell feat. Charlie Leavell is from the album Calm Songs For Kids. This would be great to use at the end of a lesson as a cool-down song with a blue canopy scarf or with the lights off!
Lyrics:
The rain falls down
The flowers grow
Stretching up so tall
And swaying slowly
The sun comes out
So warm and bright
I take a breath
And feel just right
I close my eyes
I feel the breeze
The world is calm
And I am peace
(repeat last verse)
