Talking about sensory regulation, helping kids regulate their bodies with music and sharing about taking a sensory-based approach as a music therapist and music educator are some of my favorite things to do. We’ve been talking on Instagram and Facebook about all things sensory such as sensory considerations I keep in mind when entering a music space. the senses, things I keep in mind when assessing the sensory environment, and on this blog post and on episode 62 of the Music For Kiddos Podcast, I’m sharing some of my favorite sensory tools and props to use. Some of these sensory props were ones I was exposed to and utilized about 10+ years ago when I worked at a sensory integration clinic— they’re still my favorites! And I hope they become a favorite of yours and the kids you work with, too.
